G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero issue 8 was published by IDW Publishing with a cover date of December 2013 at a cover price of 19.99 USD.
The remainder of the G.I. Joe team liberate Lady Jaye. As a new government replaces the Generalissimo, Major Bludd must flee the country to save his life. Snake-Eyes receives a replacement cabin in the mountains and discovers the grandson of his pet wolf Timber living nearby. The Joes find a hidden passage in the Pit. Jinx and Pale Peony meet with Granny Demon in Tokyo. Cobra Commander organizes a rally and Destro drills his forces for an inevitable clash with Cobra. The retired Grunt is working as an engineering consultant in Sierra Gordo when rebels seize him and other American citizens. Virtually the entire G.I. Joe team mobilizes to rescue their former teammate. The Joes’ mission into Sierra Gordo is greenlit and a team performs a HALO drop into the country. The rebels holding President Velez and the other hostages move them into an abandoned mine. Jinx and Pale Peony learn Cobra has been ordering parts from the Blue Ninjas’ Revanche Electronics to fashion more sophisticated B.A.T. robot soldiers. Most of the Joes’ air forces in Sierra Gordo are engaged by the enemy and the C-130 is destroyed, stranding the ground team. Lt. Falcon prepares another squad at the Pit to help extract the Joes in the field.
