A paranoid mercenary and the world's greatest master of disguise, Zartan leads the Dreadnok biker gang and hires out to Cobra. His skin changes color in sunlight and he is a master of mimicry, able to impersonate almost anyone. He trusts no one, and no one fully trusts him.
Zartan is a Cobra operative in the original G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line. First released as a Hasbro carded action figure in 1984, with 2 distinct figure versions produced across the 1982 to 1994 ARAH run.
Zartan appears in 12 episode synopses across the Sunbow (1983 to 1987) and DiC (1989 to 1992) runs, first appearing in Sunbow's "The Revenge of Cobra, Part 3: The Palace of Doom" (1984). Full screencap and continuity review pending.
