Three of them, which is the whole point

Super7 already sells a single Fatal Fluffy in the ReAction+ line. A single Fatal Fluffy is a curiosity. Three is a problem for the Joes, and that is exactly how the creatures worked on screen: they never showed up alone, they showed up as a wall of fur and horns while the Joes were still working out what they were looking at.

This is an army-builder pack in the truest sense. The figures are identical, and they are meant to be. Line them up behind a Cobra Commander and the shelf tells the story on its own.

The specs

Each figure stands 4.5 inches tall, which puts it a little above the 3.75-inch line it shares a shelf with, and carries 12 points of articulation. That is the “plus” in ReAction+ doing its job. The classic ReAction mold was a five-point nostalgia exercise; this one actually poses.

The sculpt does the heavy lifting. Dense layered fur across the torso and limbs, the grey armored plating on the arms and legs, the blue belt, the green eyes and the pale horn-and-mane crown. It reads as the cartoon design without looking like a flat cartoon toy.

Three accessories across a three-pack is lean, and it is worth being honest about that rather than dressing it up. You are paying for the bodies here, not the loadout. At roughly $16.66 a figure for a fully articulated 4.5-inch beast, that is still the right side of fair.

Where they came from

The Fatal Fluffies came out of The Pyramid of Darkness, the 1985 five-part miniseries, and they remain one of the strangest ideas the Sunbow writers ever committed to. Cobra genetically engineered them to read as harmless. Small, wide-eyed, the kind of thing a kid would pick up. Then a silent whistle sounds and they become clawed, fanged, horned enforcers strong enough to overpower a squad of trained soldiers.

It is a Gremlins beat dropped into a military cartoon, and it worked because the show played it straight.

Super7 leans into all of it. The window box carries artwork built off the animated series, and the pack even gets the filecard treatment, which is the detail that will land hardest with anyone who spent 1985 reading the backs of the cards before the figure was out of the bubble.

Worth keeping these straight, because two different Fatal Fluffies are in the wild this year.
