Two more Ninja Force cards have surfaced, and Super7's own packaging says the line is two figures

Ninja Force reached Target pegs this year as a pair, Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes on hot pink cards under the bladed-star logo of the sub-line Hasbro launched in 1992, and for months those two were the assortment. Over the weekend two more cards surfaced on a Philippine retail listing, and Super7 has said nothing about either of them.

The first of them files Destro as NINJA WEAPONS SUPPLIER, puts him in horned samurai armour over the usual black on the illustration, and stands a red and black figure in the blister with silver plate at the shins and shoulders and an accessory sprue moulded in grey rather than red. Cobra’s arms dealer in a horned helmet, and it looks terrific! The second is Quick Kick, whose card reads SILENT WEAPONS, in a white hood and mask over a blue uniform with a red bandolier and stars across the chest, and his sprue is moulded in the same bright red the two released figures use. The r/gijoe thread went to Destro immediately. “Everything I had previously disliked about ninja force being lame and ‘not Joe’ was instantly reversed when I saw that Destro,” wrote u/Dicfive. “Now I want to go collect the entire line.”

Neither photograph came from Super7. Toy Habits credits gi_joburg on Instagram, who posted shots of both cards seen on Shopee; the r/gijoe thread that carried them to a wider audience credits The Full Force Podcast and points at the same retailer. The pictures are phone captures of a shop listing rather than product photography, so Cobra Commander sits at the top of this page instead. Nobody has said these two are heading for Target. [1]

Super7’s own cardback still says Ninja Force is two figures

Turn a Ninja Force card over and the pink panel across the top holds the sub-line’s roster, which comes to two names: Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander. The twelve portraits underneath belong to the wider ReAction+ G.I. Joe assortment, Mara and Arctic Scarlett and Hydro-Viper and Zartan among them, and not one of them wears a Ninja Force uniform. So the cardback Super7 printed this year lists two figures, and the cards on Shopee are a third and a fourth. Both cannot be current, and the printed one is the older document.

There is a reasonable case that the pair was always a test. Super7 numbers its waves in its own product titles, the Ninja Force figures are Wave 11 on Target’s listings, and Wave 10 has yet to appear anywhere. On that numbering the exclusive reached pegs ahead of the assortment it sits behind, and a commenter on the same thread remembered Brian Flynn calling the released pair Wave 1 of something. Neither of those is confirmation of a third figure.

What the released pair actually is

Whatever the two Shopee cards turn out to be, the pair already on the peg is documented. Target lists the price, the scale, the articulation and everything in the box. Both figures are G.I. Joe Super7 ReAction+ Ninja Force Wave 11, both are $20.99, both are 4 inch with twelve points of articulation, and Target’s product highlights call each one a “Target-exclusive item”. Cobra Commander comes with a soft goods cape, a sheath and a red weapons rack holding three snake-handle katanas at three lengths, a spike-handle dagger and a pair of spinning shuriken that fit together. Snake Eyes gets a soft goods poncho, two katanas, a grappling hook, a straw hat and a spinning blade.

Neither one can be ordered online. Checked this morning, both listings show pickup unavailable, shipping unavailable and an out of stock line with a Notify me button under it, which on a Target exclusive of this kind means the peg and the app’s store stock check. [2]

If you would rather not wait, the rest of the ReAction+ G.I. Joe shelf is in stock and a chunk of it is marked down, including an Arctic Destro who is a different figure from the one on that Shopee card, and buying one is not waiting out the other.
