Super7 Is Finally Selling Cobra-La's Royal Guard Three At A Time

Every Super7 G.I. Joe: The Movie ReAction+ figure is in stock and discounted at BigBadToyStore this morning except one. Pythona and Big Lob are $22.49 off a $24.99 list, Arctic Destro and Arctic Snake Eyes are $21.24 off the same list, and the Cobra-La Royal Guard is sold out at $19.99. He is also the one figure in that group nobody wanted a single of.

BigBadToyStore has now listed him three at a time. The page is a BBTS exclusive called the G.I. Joe ReAction+ Cobra-La Royal Guard (Force Pack) Action Figure Three-Pack: three Royal Guards in one box, matching sculpts and matching deco, with a sword, a spear and a blaster divided between them. Toy Habits reported it on Monday afternoon and Toy News International ran it the same day, and neither of them has a price either.

Super7 has published nothing about it. There is no Royal Guard Force Pack on super7.com, and the store’s own G.I. Joe product feed has not moved since the Skybound Comic Box Snake Eyes went up on 19 August. [3] The retailer’s page is all the maker has put on the record.

The Royal Guard has no face, no file card personality and no name of his own, and the single release sold him as though he had all three: one to a card, at twenty dollars a head. That works for Pythona, who is a person. One guard standing beside her is not a guard detail, it is a leftover. Super7’s own box art settles it. The illustration paints three of them abreast and identical, in the arrangement the film puts them in; a collector could not buy them that way.

Three identical figures could have come with three identical loadouts, but BBTS lists a sword, a spear and a blaster, one each, and the product photography backs that up: a broad curved blade with a serrated spine, a long staff ending in a two-pronged hook, and a ribbed green sidearm with no seams or grip panels on it, closer to a shell than a gun. Everything else is shared. BBTS gives the specification as 3.75 inch scale, O-ring construction and twelve points of articulation, and the photography fills in the rest: the red bodysuit with its white organic markings, the dark blue cape and gauntlets, and the insect helmet with its turquoise compound lenses and its little red antenna.

The packaging shot is the only image on the listing that is not a version of the single figure. It is a full painted illustration of all three guards mid-lunge against an orange and red burst, with an oversized G.I. Joe logo across the top, the Cobra Enemy badge in the upper corner and an AGES 14 & UP line above it. Somebody at Super7 clearly enjoyed painting those capes! [1]

The listing went up without a price and without a ship window, and the only control on it was a Notify Me When Available button. [2] The nearest thing to a guide was the Fatal Fluffy Force Pack, the three-pack Super7 listed on its own store on 5 August, which BBTS had in stock the same morning at $49.99 for three figures. That guess held up, and the update below has the number.

Hasbro put him in Classified too, as number 191, single-carded. We can find no earlier Royal Guard multipack from either company. The film puts the guards in ranks. This is the first box that sells them that way.

The page took orders by the afternoon of 15 September. Toy Habits, Toy News International and Toy Hype USA all reported the Force Pack in stock at BigBadToyStore between 09:03 and 16:50 Eastern, and the listing itself now carries one offer at $49.99, schema.org/InStock, with a live Add To Cart control. Super7’s single-carded Royal Guard was $19.99 at that retailer before it sold out, so three of him bought one at a time came to $59.97, and the pack undercuts that by ten dollars. It is also the only way to get the rank in one box.
