G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero issue 6 was published by IDW Publishing with a cover date of March 2013 at a cover price of 19.99 USD.

Cobra engineers Darklon’s escape from the Pit, not realizing G.I. Joe allowed it to happen; Muskrat, Ambush & Outback are used as pawns, driving the Hammer into the desert while Darklon hides beneath it. Meanwhile, Pale Peony links up with the Dreadnoks to locate the Krytron and break away permanently from Cobra. While Pale Peony schemes with Zarana & Road Pig to take over Darklon’s operations, Darklon himself escapes from the desert to a waiting Python Conquest. Clutch & Rock & Roll run into an envoy of Crimson Guard on the highway while Cobra moves its base of operations. Darklon returns to Darklonia, then sets off to Benzheen in his quest to obtain the Krytron. Clutch and Rock & Roll survey Cobra’s actions as they move into their new base. A G.I. Joe already on the ground in Benzheen is startled to see Darklon arrive. Clutch and Rock & Roll liberate three teenage prisoners in Cobra’s new Rancho Cobra base, but Clutch and two of the teens wind up being recaptured and Dr. Mindbender decides to use the brainwave scanner on Clutch. The Joe team in Benzheen observes as Pale Peony, the Dreadnoks, Destro and the Baroness crash Darklon’s efforts to obtain the Krytron. Unfortunately, Airtight & Dusty are captured by Benzheen authorities. Clutch is brainwashed by the brainwave scanner and helps capture Rock & Roll so he can be subjected to the same. Darklon completes his deal with Benzheen while Airtight & Dusty meet the country’s former emir in prison. Hawk assembles a strike team led by Lt. Falcon to rescue their Benzheen operatives, then assigns Jinx to a separate, secret mission.
