Mad Marauders Footloose, Mutt & Junkyard: SDCC 2026 Classified Reveal Now Preordering

San Diego Comic-Con 2026 handed the Classified Series one of its best deep cuts yet: Sgt. Slaughter’s Marauders are back. Classified Series #220 puts Footloose and Mutt and Junkyard in one box, in the blue and green camo that made the 1989 sub-team impossible to mistake for anyone else on the shelf.

Why the Marauders matter

Slaughter’s Marauders landed in 1989 as a six-figure sub-team: Sgt. Slaughter plus repainted versions of Barbecue, Footloose, Low-Light, Mutt and Spirit. The gimmick was the deco. Every Marauder wore the same green, brown and blue camo scheme, so a shelf of them read as one unit instead of six loose figures. Collectors have argued about that colourway for thirty-odd years, and Hasbro has just committed to it in premium 6 inch scale.

The Classified take keeps the loud blue vests and the two-tone green legs, then adds the sculpting and articulation the vintage repaints never had. Set it next to the Classified Sgt. Slaughter and “Triple T” reveal from the same wave and the sub-team starts to look like a real display project rather than a one-off.

The roster

Footloose Classified Series figure with backpack, helmet, knife, pistol, assault rifle and bazooka laid out around him

Infantry Trooper

Footloose

Unhelmeted head with the mustache intact, and a shark-mouth bazooka that is easily the best accessory in the box.

  • Helmet with foliage band
  • Bazooka plus loose rocket
  • Assault rifle and pistol
  • Combat knife
  • Field backpack
Mutt Classified Series figure with helmet, mask, two pairs of goggles, six alternate hands, nightstick, knife, rifle and pistol

K-9 Handler

Mutt

Six alternate hands, some sculpted into dog-trainer signals, which is the detail that sells the whole set.

  • Helmet and face mask
  • Two pairs of goggles
  • Six alternate hands
  • Nightstick and knife
  • Assault rifle and pistol
Junkyard the Rottweiler figure in a blue Mad Marauders harness with orange paws

Attack Dog

Junkyard

Articulated Rottweiler in a blue tactical harness, with a swappable head so he can be calm or snarling.

  • Blue Marauders harness
  • Alternate head: "good boy"
  • Alternate head: "growling"

One correction worth making on the early reporting: the swappable heads belong to Junkyard, not to the human figures. Mutt gets hands, goggles and a mask instead.

Everything in the box

Full Mad Marauders loadout: packaged box, Footloose and Mutt figures, Junkyard with alternate head, and all 23 accessory pieces
The complete 23-piece loadout alongside the windowed box. Footloose top, Mutt lower left, Junkyard and his alternate head at right.

Hasbro counts 23 character-inspired accessory pieces across the two human figures, with Junkyard’s spare head on top of that. Amazon’s listing breaks the box down as two 6 inch figures with 23 accessories, plus one pet with one accessory.

The Mad Marauders sub-team of G.I. Joe is a highly specialized, fast attack, ground assault unit that strikes the first blow for G.I. Joe against Cobra's forces of evil.

Where to get it

Preorders opened on 28 July 2026. It is a wide release rather than a retailer exclusive, so there is no single choke point:

  • BigBadToyStore has it at $74.99 for October 2026, with Pile of Loot and the usual packaging grades. That is the preorder button above and at the foot of this story.
  • Amazon lists it at $74.99 with a 1 October 2026 release date.
  • Hasbro Pulse carries it at the same price, with fall 2026 stated as the window.

Wide release usually means less panic than an Amazon exclusive, but the Classified squad packs have a habit of quietly slipping their dates. Nothing is charged on a BBTS preorder until it ships, so locking one in costs nothing now.

What else is in this wave

The Marauders arrive in a busy stretch for the line. The M.A.R.S. S.N.A.K.E. Battle Suit went up as an Amazon exclusive at $79.99 for October 2026, and the retro cardback wave of Falcon, Flash and Cobra Valkyrie is preordering at $27.99 each. Between a mech, a retro sub-line and a sub-team three-pack, Hasbro is clearly done treating Classified as a single-figure line.
