Hasbro built a new Dreadnok around a joke, then gave him a working trauma kit

Hasbro built a new Dreadnok around a joke, then gave him a working trauma kit

Most of what Hasbro has added to the Classified Series this year has been a new take on a character the line already had a name for. Flatline is not that. He is a wholly new Dreadnok, shown off on Tuesday as Classified Series #232, and Hasbro has given him a backstory before it has given him a price.

The reveal went out through Game Rant as an exclusive at noon Eastern, two days before New York Comic Con opens at the Javits Center, and the Joe sites picked it up through the afternoon. Hasbro says pre-orders go live on Hasbro Pulse on 13 October at 1pm ET, with the figure arriving in early 2027 [1]. No price has been announced.

He is not quite new, in the sense that we were told he was coming. Hasbro named Flatline at its San Diego panel in July without showing him, and said only that he was an original character and a slightly stranger idea than the villains around him. Nothing more was said about him until Tuesday, but the name had been sitting on that panel slide since July, so it was already familiar to the Joe sites when the photographs went up.

Dr. Tinker and the grape soda theory

Flatline is Dr. Thomas Tinker of Millville, New York, and his primary specialty is listed as Veterinarian, his secondary as Battlefield Medicine. Hasbro’s filecard explains the rest:

To supplement his failing veterinarian clinic, which had a reputation for losing more patients than they saved, Dr. Thomas Tinker resorted to providing back alley medical care for the more unsavory residents of Millville, NY, where Cobra had established a significant secret presence. That brought him to the attention of the Dreadnoks who found common ground with Flatline’s espoused belief in the antiseptic properties of grape soda.

The Dreadnoks then hired him, and the card says why: their “frequent vehicular accidents and clubhouse brawls require constant emergency treatment, oftentimes at odd hours,” so, “hoping to save time and money, they simply recruited Flatline to be a full-fledged member.” The card closes with somebody, probably Zartan, admitting “I’m not certain he’s properly licensed to be a doctor, a vet, or anything at all to be honest.”

And then the accessories play it straight. A gag character usually gets a gag sculpt to go with it, and Hasbro could have stopped at the bone saw, but what is in the box is a working trauma kit, and the pieces in it are the ones a field medic would actually carry.

The bone saw named “Chin Chopper” on the filecard is the chainsaw he is holding in most of the photography, and it runs off a generator he wears on his back, with a power cord between the two; the defibrillator hammer called “The Clinker” is the mallet-looking thing with the slab head. There is a respirator with hoses running into it, a hood for weather, a sidearm, and a medical pouch on his chest with a veterinary clinic logo on it. All of it is equipment rather than a punchline, and the jokes have been pushed down into the detailing instead.

The pouch is stencilled MILLVILLE VETERINARY CLINIC, with a logo of a dog and a figure holding something. The handheld games console clipped to his studded belt is showing GAME OVER in green dot matrix. It is the best thing on the figure! The book is a yellow and black manual in the house style of a certain reference series, and the title on the cover reads Surgery for the Ill-Informed [2].

What you cannot do yet

Nobody can order him yet. A reveal landing this close to a convention usually arrives with a listing attached to it, and this one has not. We read the BigBadToyStore search ourselves, and there is no Classified Flatline listing there at all; the search returns “No items match your search criteria” [3]. Hasbro Pulse has no live product page either. We will update this post once there is a listing to read.

Hasbro’s action brands panel is Thursday night at 7:15 pm ET, and HissTank’s write-up ends by telling readers to stay tuned to the show for more on Flatline and others. Thursday night will most likely carry more about Flatline than Tuesday did. Our NYCC 2026 hub is carrying every Joe reveal as it lands.

The last Dreadnok thing Hasbro put out was the Thunder Machine, a vehicle welded together out of scavenged parts. Flatline is the one they call when it crashes, taken on because he was cheaper than a hospital, and Hasbro has sculpted him with the kit to do the job properly.

[1] Game Rant had the reveal first hand and says the pre-order is on Hasbro Pulse. Lyles Movie Files gives the same day and time but names Amazon and Entertainment Earth instead. We have gone with the exclusive on the retailer, and the date and time are the same either way, so check all three if you want it.

[2] The spine is partly obscured by his hand in the only shot that shows the cover, so the small word between “Surgery” and “Ill-Informed” is readable as “for the” and nothing else is legible.

[3] Searching BigBadToyStore for “flatline” on its own returns one figure: a Transformers Age of the Primes Voyager Class Flatline, a different character on a different line, and worth knowing about before anybody orders the wrong one.
